The R&D Technician Role is responsible for supporting the R&D catheter development group to develop catheters and processes for projects under development through the PRP process. The R&D Technician will support all development and testing activities and report all studies in Lab notebook or relevant reports. Ensure the R&D catheter area meets regulatory compliance and is audit ready at all times in terms of GMP and GDP. Support the R&D Engineers in the development of Catheters. Generate test data and technical documentation to support ongoing Catheter development work. Assist in troubleshooting Catheter related technical process and product issues. Provide daily support in the R&D area in the set up and development of Catheter processes and products. Develop a good level of understanding of applicable regulations including EU and FDA regulations. Provide input during Design Reviews in relation to process and product development activities. Complete documentation updates to support new work instructions, updates to existing documentation. Take part in stand up meetings to discuss projects on weekly basis. Support introduction of new technologies / equipment. Support / train operators to build and test catheters or sub-assemblies during the PRP process. Qualifications. The successful applicant must have: At least 2 years’ experience in a medical device or other similar organisation. Demonstrated strong ability in technical problem-solving, determining root cause and implementing temporary and long term solutions. Competencies and Attributes. Must possess good technical ability and be self motivated. Continually learning and exploring more efficient methods to perform duties. Works closely with Manufacturing and R&D Engineers to continually develop his/her knowledge and experience. A good team player who works well in a small team environment. Capacity to make decisions in conjunction with others while learning from mistakes. A good knowledge of the regulatory environment in which the business operates. Attention to detail is essential in the performance of all duties. Good interpersonal skills while building effective relationships with employees in other Dept’s.
