Contract Process/Test Support Engineer- Galway. 11 month contract. This role will involve extensive global travel. Support Design & Delivery of Series Production Test Systems for New and Existing Camera Products. Work as directed by P1 Test Engineering Manager to provide Test/Process solutions and system deliveries in a timely manner. Responsibilities. General. Lead new automated system Development, Delivery, Install and Qualification. Travel to and spend time at other sites supporting install and Qualification of new equipment. Work closely with projects Test Engineering & Project Teams in delivering new projects to Production with clear focus on Cycle Times Targets, First Time Yield, Direct Labour and Test System Efficiency/Utilisation. Support Product Line Development and Open Issues. Drive Test Engineering best practices including S/W & H/W standardisation from Prototyping through to Series Production. Provide requirements to DFT, DFMs, PFMEAs & Design Reviews for new equipment development. Software Development. Development/ Integration/ Testing of cutting edge technologies and latest communication standards to Test Framework. Drive Test and Process Engineering best practices within the S/W, H/W & Mech Eng Design Teams. Develop Test Sequences on existing Bespoke Test sequencer and NI Test Platform. Mechanical/Hardware Development. Integration of Test applications to Automated Production Processes. Liase with Project Design Engineers (Hardware/Software & Mechanical), Process Engineering in the Design, Development and Delivery of Test System Solutions and provide input/updates to DFT, DFMs,PFMEAs & Design Reviews. Specify and Design test fixtures, considering Poka Yoke techniques, etc. Validation/Qualification. Generation of Qualification Plan and statistical data to validate product test strategy. Generation of Technical & Training documentation. Education/Training. Diploma in Electronics Engineering/Mechatronics or Equivalent. Professional Experience. Minimum 4 Years Experience within Electronics Manufacturing Environment (ideally Automotive Electronics. Must have excellent debug and problem solving skills. Project management experience required. PLC programming and HMI development experience required (Preferably Beckhoff. Software Programming Skills – C, ++, Batch programmingor similar. General Software Packages skills – Microsoft Office Suite, Minitab, etc. Experience with Automation equipment (Sensors, I/O, PLC’s, Robotics. Experience with at least one CAD package e.g. AutoCad or SolidWorks. Following considered Beneficial but not essential: Experience with Protocol standards GPIB, RS232, LIN, CAN, Ethernet & WiFi. Experience in Video Standards – LVDS, NTSC, Ethernet. Experience in document writing is required, i.e. procedures, specifications, reports, etc. Knowledge of DFT/DFM requirements for Final Assembly Required. Mechanical Engineering principles Experience Required. PCB design knowledge and experience considered beneficial. Capable of generating and understanding Capability and R&R reports.
