Moulding Process Technician- Co. Galway. Purpose As a member of the technical team on site you will be expected to build and maintain excellent working relationships with all team members. Setups, starts, sustain and monitor moulding processes. Assists in the development and validation of new and existing moulding processes and monitoring of same Troubleshooting problem processes through the use of Lean Tools applying a data driven approach, works to identify root cause and corrective actions and implementation of improvements. Responsibilities and Duties: Ensure appropriate action is taken to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner using systematic approach to problem solving. Work with cross functional team members, always practicing good teamwork to support day to day operating requirements and address mould, machine & material issues. Continuously monitor the performance of a wide range of moulding equipment and automation to ensure that production and quality targets are maintained. Provide input on new or alternative systems or processes to aid moulding department. Assist in the validation of new and existing moulds and equipment as required. Perform design of experiments / Scientific moulding. Promote and support Continuous Improvement activities to help optimise the performance of the moulding department in line with Lean principles and process excellence. Maintain a clean and safe work environment; supporting all company safety programs and initiatives. Strictly adhere to PPE requirements. Perform TPM on process equipment in line with the Preventative Maintenance system. Liaise with sister sites for new mould introductions and existing mould modifications. Liaise with vendors, suppliers and local engineering shops as required. Identify procedural/process deficiencies and implement solutions. Accept assignments, promotions and deployments on the basis of suitability and in line with business requirements. Qualifications: Bachelor of Engineering in Plastics Engineering or similar, with 3+ years’ experience in Injection moulding plastics processing withgood knowledge of injection mould tooling and design. Experience with multi-cavity moulds and hot runner systems a plus. Have experience in transfer and validation of new moulds into production. Knowledge of ancillary equipment function and maintenance related to injection moulding process. Excellent written / verbal communication and PC skills. Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects. Strong team player, self-motivated. Should have a good knowledge of the principles of 5S, SMED, and Kaizen.
