Test Development Engineerrequired for permanent role in Co. Galway. Responsibilities: Development of test methods and specialised equipment. Development of processes and identification of process improvements bringing efficiencies into internal processes. To support sales team with non-standard technical enquiries. Adherence to Design Control/Documentation & Change Control To support sales team with non-standard technical enquiries. Knowledge of validation of test methods and processes for internal and external customers. Provide testing solutions based on customer requirements and international standards. Design and/or configure available test equipment as required to meet technical requirements. Develop appropriate instructions and test methods to ensure that testing activities are performed in the required fashion. Provide technical support to the calibration & maintenance department. Report on the specialised testing activity. Review/approve technical documentation. Provide timing estimates and equipment costs to the sales group for non-standard test enquiries. Meet customers to discuss and understand their technical requirements. Requirements: Third level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or relevant combination of education and experience. 5+ years in a relevant business. Test experience (mechanical, electrical, medical etc.) Understanding of pneumatics, instrumentation and measurement system. Advantageous: 3D CAD modelling. Medical device testing. Medical device manufacturing environment. Pneumatic system design, repair and upgrade. Instrumentation & measurement system design, repair and upgrade. Equipment validation. Calibration & maintenance. Test method development. Test method validation. Fixture design / interaction with toolmakers.
