Sales Development Manager. We are currently recruiting for a client in the West of Ireland. This highly successful company is a manufacturer, marketer and distributor of alcoholic drinks. The role we are seeking to fill requires an individual with the key attributes of drive, focus, success and an intimate knowledge of the beverage sector. Reporting to National On Trade Sales Manager you will be responsible for supporting the company’s Sales Team, within a specific territory, to drive sales of Wines, premium spirits, agency NABs and the craft beer portfolio into the On Trade. You will actively contribute to the overall business success, measured by incremental margin contribution, driven by the above categories. The successful candidate will show a high level of attention to detail, coupled with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels within the business. You will have an in-depth understanding of margin and reporting and will be customer led. Significant experience and a demonstrable track record of delivery in a previous sales or sales support role are essential. The successful candidate will: Be a self-starter, able to generate leads, manage proposals and close a sale. Have an in-depth understanding of the drinks industry and be confident in their ability to cross-sell the various business categories above. Will ideally have achieved level 3 WSET qualification or higher and have a good understanding of the business of wine in the on trade. Be comfortable conducting training and presentations on wine, craft beer and premium spirits. Have the ability to work effectively on their own initiative and the confidence to propose, where relevant, new ideas and better ways of working. Demonstrate excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong effective relationships at all levels within the business. Display a proactive, methodical approach with a strong understanding of, and focus on, margin. Have excellent customer management and problem solving skills that will enhance and build upon our reputation, as Ireland’s leading Wine & Spirits company. Be team driven and excel in a collaborative, solutions-driven environment. Possess excellent report writing skills with the ability to prepare weekly and monthly reports. Be technology literate with the proven ability to work with a range of IT systems and have a good working knowledge of MS Office. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: Growing the overall profitability of the territory through a focus on high margin products. Identifying growth opportunities for wine/craft/spirits in pub and HORECA outlets. Increasing sales of wine, craft beer and agency spirits through a targeted, customer led approach. Spending time in trade with on trade team to coach sales rep and sell in entire portfolio. Developing pricing proposals for wine and presenting to customers. Identifying wine of the month / beer of the month opportunities & follow through with proposals. Identify halo accounts and devise a total support solution using our portfolio, including visibility. Reviewing sales reports, identifying gaps and proposing solutions. Work closely with the craft beer general manager to identify growth opportunities for manufactured and agency craft beers. Work with the executive team on developing trade marketing plans for key supplier brands. Present regularly at sales team meetings re upcoming activities & review recent promotions.
