Electronics Engineer - Galway. Main Responsibilities for this role: Support test facilities at the plant and at manufacturing locations. This includes: design, prototype, procurement, commissioning and documentation of custom production test equipment, including controllers and fixtures. Participate in design and build of custom laboratory test equipment. Write and manage test specifications and test plans for new electronic products. Plan for overall test capacity & capability. Problem-solving, troubleshooting and support of all test related activities in the laboratory and in functional test. Technical support for other departments as required. Liaise with New Product Development to provide DFT (Design For Test) advice at an early stage in product design. Laboratory testing of products to international standards. Reporting on systems status and key metrics. Qualifications / Experience / Skills / Attributes Sought: Level 8 degree in Electronic Engineering. Minimum 2 years' relevant experience, though an exception can be made for suitable graduates.. Capabilities in both analog and digital electronics. Ability to build electronic circuits and de-bug at component level. Comfortable working with “Mains” electrical supply and suitably safety conscious. Able to take the initiative for new developments and continuous improvements. Some mechanical aptitude for working with test fixtures and small assemblies. Good soldering skills (training can be provided.) Knowledge of PLC programming is desirable, but not essential. Practical experience with LabView or similar is desirable but not essential. Ability to work as part of a team in a fast paced environment. Communications: Fluent written and spoken English with excellent record keeping and report writing skills are essential.
