Computer Vision Function Lead - Galway. A computer vision function lead will be responsible for technical delivery of state of the art vision functions to the overall Automated Driving Assistance Systems for automated parking functionality. Examples of such vision functions include: pedestrian detection, structure from motion, lane detection, parking slot detection, object detection and classification & scene understanding.   Responsbilities: Direct algorithmic development of computer vision, image processing, and sensor fusion functions for autonomous driving applications. Perform research into new vision technology, ideas, and approaches to ensure the organisation remains abreast of all leading edge/emerging vision technologies. Regular communications with counterparts at vehicle manufacturers to plan and agree development of your assigned function. Perform Intellectual Property clearance studies relating to your function and generate Invention Disclosure Memos to facilitate patent applications for all technological advancements. Report on relevant function development activities and performance. Provide regular demo’s of your function to senior management and to customers on prototype vehicles. Lead design reviews. Assist Business Development with next generation product marketing and new business requests. Focus on innovation and protecting intellectual property through patent filing. Review Customer Requirements and translate into internal systems & software requirements specifications. Communicate with Systems Architects, Software Architects, Software and Test engineers on your assigned function.   Required Skills/Experience : Bachelors Degree in Software Eng., Computer Science, Physics, Electronic Eng., Mathematics or equivalent. At least 4+ years professional experience in a relevant field. Good understanding of fundamental computer vision algorithms and approaches. Excellent English language communication skills, both written and verbal. Knowledge of software development cycle  High level of innovation and motivation. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Algorithm development experience in robotics, ultrasonics, RADAR, LIDAR, camera systems, sensor fusion or computer vision. Experienced using requirement engineering tools. Experience with PC-based simulation tools. Knowledge of UML design tools. Experience developing software for embedded platforms. Experience with Matlab, Python or equivalent prototyping tools. Experience developing algorithms for autonomous and/or real-time systems. Experience with imaging or optics systems. Automotive industry experience.
