R&D Process Engineer- Galway. Description. Position Overview; The Process Engineer is responsible to ensure a smooth running system and software development process, method and tool-chain in his projects. He/She supports Project Management, R&D Project Team Members and SoftWare Project Managers to identify gaps and inefficiencies. He/She coaches the projects team on process method and tools topics, or makes sure they get the coaching from respective sources. He/She takes gaps identified by SYSEM & Software Quality reviews, customer reviews or other reviews and tracks them to closure. He/She works closely together and is supported by the Process Owners and Key Users. Responsibilities; Facilitate the project development method, tool-chain and process with the respective departments and teams. Requirements management and exchange with customer. Continuous build, integration and test. Automated test and validation. Agile methods. Lead Process Improvement Action Plan to reach maturity goals in project. Coach rest of project team on process excellence mindset, policy & practices. Carry out root cause analysis for System Software Quality claims/issues (collected from all kinds of „assessments“ and reviews. Share best practice. Managing and control reviews in cooperation with SYS &Software Quality. SYSTEM & Software reviews. SPICE/GAMA assessments (internal and external. Manage tailoring and destandardization requests from project to (T)PL. Support Project Manager & R&D-Project Team Members & Software Project Managers to manage priority and process maturity tasks vs. milestone. Support the rest of the project team for process needs. Escalation path depending on severity: Skip-level in project to Project Manager. Qualifications. Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Science or Mathematics. Experience in Quality (2 years. Experience in the Software Quality Assurance / Software Development field. Experience with the software development process, systems engineering methodologies, and test techniques. Experience in training or mentoring peers in engineering methodologies. Experience in embedded Software/Systems development (automotive experience is a plus.
