Our client in Galway City are seeking an Accounts Assistant to particularly focus on credit control within their finance department.

You will need to have an excellent personality, with an ability to develop good working relationships with customers to ensure timely payments.

This is a permanent full-time role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proactively manage credit control on all accounts.
• Issue credit notes in accordance with company policy and guidelines.
• Setup new customer accounts, ensure application forms are completed accurately and carry out reference checks.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Allocate payments onto customer accounts in accordance with remit.
• Issuing of statements to customers using established guidelines.
• Liaison and communication with sales as required to maintain an accurate position on customer accounts.
• Calculation of customer rebates.
• Invoice discount reconciliation and preparation of files for audit.
• Dealing with customer queries especially in relation to payments.
• Month end duties including supervision of stocktakes, reconcile credit cards, review of nominals and bank recs especially sterling.
• Assist person who is responsible for posting invoices and managing filing.

• A minimum of one years’ experience in credit control.
• Previous experience in a finance function.
• Qualified Accounts Technician desirable but not essential.
• Confident dealing with clients and discussing matters relating to payments due.
• Personable with an excellent phone manner.
• Fluent English and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
