Mechanical Team Manager - County Galway. The role: •Manage a group of engineers / technicians in the mechanical team. Ensure the right level of capabilities, competencies and expertise. •Responsible for deploying and implementing “state of the art” standards, processes, methods & tools in the team. •Participate in the improvement of standards, process, methods & tools. •Check and audit the implementation of the standards. Key Responsibilities: Management- •Manage team of engineers and technicians (yearly reviews, meetings, missions, objectives. •Define the necessary qualifications and training plan for the team with the support of management. •Allocate the team staff in the projects activities. •Propose trainings and career evolutions with the support of management. •Contribute to the recruitment of new members of the department. Budgets- •Propose and follow the budget for the team in conjunction with the overall dept budget. •Responsible for the Team Efficiency Plan and achievements. Process, Methodology, Tools, Equipment- •Deploy the Engineering process, methodology and tools defined by / together with Management. •Participate in the definition of processes, methods and the tools necessary to properly handle projects. •Ensure the full deployment of 5 axes methodology. •Participate in the improvement of standards, methods & tools. Standardization & Robust Design- •Support team by ensuring knowledge, training and implementation of the standards. •Review and challenge "De-standardisation" requests before release. •Ensure that each single design is achieving the highest level of robust design. Qualifications and Experience Sought: •BEng. Mechanical Engineering with experience in automotive engineering preferred. • At least 5 to 10 years' experience in mechanical design within automotive engineering or relevant industry. •Experience in a people management role is preferred but not essential. •Experience with project resource management is preferred but not essential.
