Software Test Manager – Fixed Term PAYE Contract Position. The Software Test manager will have responsibility for: Owning and managing all the testing and validation activities through the system development life cycle (SDLC), covering quality assurance of CoVIS Contractor system testing, functional integration testing and ultimately regression testing and user acceptance testing (UAT. Overseeing and managing the design, maintenance and execution of robust test plans, test scenarios, test scripts, test data in line with the CoVIS Test Strategy. Ensuring performance/stress/volume testing of non-functional requirements is conducted and findings progressed. Ensuring maintenance and completeness of requirements traceability matrix throughout testing phase. Driving communication between the testing, business analysis, architecture and development/production support teams to ensure each requirement has adequate test coverage. Resource planning and developing release work plans and schedules for validation and execution of test cases in line with overall agreed CoVIS Contractor program of work. Reviewing and inputting as required of into overall project timelines, project and cost estimation, budget development and cost control for the applications/projects in scope from a testing perspective. Inputting into project approval and sign off for all test activity and documentation. Third party vendor/contractor management in relation to aspects of software testing and validation. Reviewing and sign off CoVIS Contactor or other third party test documentation. Management of testing risks and issues. Reviewing and developing system enhancement requirements and system changes. Day to Day management of defects raised with CoVIS Contractor from initial logging right through to defect resolution in production. Chairing test review meetings as appropriate and delivering test status reports to key stakeholders. Management of all testing documentation on the Authority’s Sharepoint site. Co-ordination of release plans and communications to system users. Supervising and providing independent software quality assurance in relation to the CoVIS Contractor’s deliverables and providing best practice guidance to the Authority with regard to software testing. Input into benefits management stream and overall monitoring of CVR benefits delivery. People management responsibility: Managing internal testing resources which may be allocated from time to time as required. Managing third party and contract test resources assigned to projects and BAU. Essential functions, skills and attributes: Good interpersonal and communication skills. Strict attention to detail. Have strong verbal and written communications skills. Have strong management and leadership skills. Have a track record of delivering complex projects to completion. High knowledge as regards software testing methodologies. Knowledge of standard application project management methodologies. Be able to handle multiple, complex priorities and balance the needs of each according to business impact; Proven ability to deliver high standard deliverables and documentation. Ability to review project deliverables for completeness, quality and compliance. Must have strong analytical, investigative and coordination skills. Must be able to work with minimal or no supervision and have the ability to prioritise workloads quickly and efficiently. Experience with Microsoft Office suite and MS Project. Experience with Microsoft XRM Dynamics Platform. Testing roles on previous projects involving the following technologies Microsoft BizTalk , Microsoft Sharepoint 2010, Microsoft .NET technologies.
