Job Responsibilities: Coach and support the Team Leaders to ensure continuous identification of ideas for improvement. Ensure Team leaders are following leader standard work. Audit product builder standard work. All steps, all cells, at least once per week. Coach Team Leads and Product Builders in problem solving. Lead improvement projects and initiatives. Every cell must improve annually. Fill in for the Team Leaders when all are busy on the line(s. Address disciplinary matters. Initiate contingency plans for major production problems. Ensure Kanban system is being followed. Input to contract reviews to ensure new products are manufacturable. Ensure housekeeping, health & safety standards are maintained to a high level. Coach and mentor team leaders in lean principles. Selection of employees. Help prepare and update work standards. Seek help for the team from support organisation when problems cannot be solved within the team. Ensure that resources are available for team to produce on-time quality product. Keep TMS up-dated. Perform performance reviews for Product Builders and Team Leads. Develop Training and development plans for Team Leads. Drive ramp up and stabilisation of the Needles manufacturing lines. Key Requirements: Ability to effectively communicate within the Team. Ability to lead and motivate a team. Must have a thorough understanding of lean principles and a demonstrated ability to implement the principles. Ability to learn a wide range of processing steps. The Group Leader will be expected to be trained and capable of performing all tasks with in the cells. A continuous improvement attitude. The Group Leader will be expected to constantly analyse the work of the area, looking for ways to combine, rearrange and simplify tasks. (Training will be provided on problem identification and problem solving methodologies. Ability to teach work methods to others. An attitude of compliance to standard work procedures.
